You said it Jaya, the support of an instructor is all one needs and I do enjoy being told which part to move and hurt, and which ones can take a break for the day. It’s fun and it injects my day with just the right dosage of push and pull it requires to get the mind’s wheels off on the creative road. I hope you join in too. Thanks for reading!
The fight between too little and too much - I see me own struggle with fitness and food in your words and find comfort in the fact that I am not alone. A delightful read!
Thanks Samira. We all struggle more or less on certain days, but mostly I think we are all aware that movement is essential to keep our engines oiled and happy. We are all in it together for sure. Thanks for reading. Keep writing too.
What a lovely article! I loved how easily you accept your self who is happy with less activity. “Some days, I simply don’t feel like moving it. Curled at the corner of the sofa, cushioned up, reading from my recently-bought collection, a fine book, and munching on an apple or a Guava is all I wish to do”. And the ball of energy that you are is so real when you write , “My stamina is low but the world out there feels I have huge reserves of energy, that I am one unstoppable ball of vigor and vitality at ‘this age’. The truth is it’s the mind that keeps me wired- pushing boundaries, lugging the body along, an obedient servant, it listens and dances to this mind’s willful song.”
Keep writing , you have many stories to tell the world!
Thanks Ajay, glad you enjoyed reading my little story of to exercise or not to- and why must I after all. Fact is I do enjoy the rigours life imposes on the human body, having been raised in Pondy- where 2 hours a day were dedicated to polishing our vessel, keeping it supple and fit. So it’s not that hard. One gets lazy with age and leisure, that’s it! Keep writing, you too. Loved your piece as well.
Thanks Chembu. Please carry on having fun. I also enjoy squash and Pickle Ball a lot, and it gives me a high like nothing else truly can. Well, swimming is another fave of mine, and sea-swimming is the best. I hope you’re able to continue enjoy all. physical activities forever. Thanks for reading.
